LEARNING SKILLS FOR 21ST CENTURY/ KEMAHIRAN BELAJAR UNTUK ABAD KE-21
Living in the 21st century demands us to equip ourselves with the skills and knowledge needed to face the challenges of the century. Thus, in the assignment, you shall learn to enhance your skills and knowledge relevant to cope with those challenges.
One of the prevailing issues that need our concern is the sustainability of the environment. In this assignment, you are required to apply the 21st century skills learned it all of the topics in the module to elaborate the answer for the following question:
QUESTION:
How does the Global Citizenship Education (GCED) benefited the society in resolving environmental issues?
SPECIFIC INSTRUCTION:
You are required to include the following in your essay writing:
1- INTRODUCTION – Write a brief background of your assignment and TWO objectives of the assignment.
2- CONTENT: There are THREE parts of the content as follows:
a) Part A: Decide on ONE environmental issue to focus on.
Guidelines for writing Part A:
i. Briefly describe the issues that you want to focus on. Be specific on why you choose the issue.
ii. Read Topic 1 of the module to get an overview of the course. You may find that you will learn a lot of skills while completing the assignment.
iii. You may read Topics 9 and 10 to get a better idea on the issues.
b) Part B: Seek out for TWO videos: one on GCED and the other one on the chosen issue.
Guidelines for writing Part B:
i. You may read Topic 4 of your module to get more information on videos. The video should not be longer than 10 minutes.
ii. Search for a video on the 3 key conceptual dimensions (cognitive, socio-emotional and behavioural skills) of GCED.
iii. Seek out for a video of the chosen environmental issue as well.
iv. Copy the link from the YouTube URL and paste on your assignment.
v. Write a review of your interpretation of each video. For example, what do you understand about the video you have watched?
vi. You may refer to Topic 5 and 6 on how to creatively and critically review the info that you have gathered.
c) Part C: Write on the ways the 3 key conceptual dimensions of GCED brings benefit the society to resolve the environmental issue.
Guidelines for writing Part C:
i. Describe GCED and the environmental issue you have chosen. Discuss how the 3 key conceptual dimensions of GCED can bring benefit to the society to resolve the environmental issue.
ii. Suggest the ways to resolve the environmental issue that you have discussed earlier through GCED. Find TWO articles/websites to support your suggestion.
3- CONCLUSION: Write a summary of your assignment.
4- SELF-REFLECTION: Write a reflection note about the process of completing the assignment.
5- REFERENCES: Cite all your resources (video, articles/websites) and write the reference list. Read Topic 2 on how to use APA format.
