CLINICAL PRACTICE MENTAL HEALTH

1. RUNNING ASSESSMENT – 30% 

A new feature of the curriculum requires the programme to conduct a series of formative assessments that measure students' acquisition of the identified knowledge and mastery of skills throughout their course of study in the program. This will be achieved by assessing students’ competencies in two clinical procedures using Running Assessment approach. The assessment should evaluate students’ clinical proficiency including communication, critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills. 


Thus, during clinical placement you will be evaluated on your clinical competency using Running Assessment approach based on any TWO selected procedures from your ‘log book’ (Course Kit). Your clinical preceptor will be the assessor. He / she will identify the procedures based on the availability of cases, appropriateness of time and situation of the clinical area. The assessor will inform you at least one day prior to the assessment date so that you can prepare and be ready for the test. 

Students are expected to incorporate cognitive skills and clinical education experiences in this particular discipline that is Clinical PracticeMental Health. Additionally, students should be able to identify, analyze, synthesize, and apply knowledge and skills learned over time, on a cumulative basis. The Code of Ethics should be conformed throughout the assessments. 

The list of the selected procedures as stated below: 


1.1 Performing a focusedmental status examination - Interview on thesymptoms of auditory hallucination 

1.2 Administering oral medication to a patient with mental disorder. 

1.4 Caringfora post ECT patient.

2. CASE STUDY WRITE-UP – 35% 

You are required to writea Case Study of aPatient with a Mental Health Problem whom you have care during your Clinical Practice. 



The Title of the Case Study should be written as “The Patient Care and Management of a Patient with ………………………………………………………” 



· The recommended framework / headings are: 

i. Section 1: Introduction 

ii. Section 2: Presentation of the case: 

- Demographic data 

- General health history 

- Assessment (MSSE) findings 

- Management and patient Care of the patient. It must be discussed in chronological manner and by utilizing patient care process. 

iii. Section 3: Conclusion / summary 

iv. Section 4: References (APA Style, Version 7th) 

v. Section 5: Appendixes 


· Your work will be assessed based on the Rubrics provided in Appendix 4

Tugasan ini sebenarnya kami pernah buat sebelum ini cuma mungkin soalannya diubah-ubah setiap semester. Namun kehendak soalan sebenarnya adalah hampir sama setiap semester.
