Task Description:

As part of your JUE200 assessment (25% Writing Component), you are required to individually

craft a blog post on a social theme. This task is designed to assess your ability to organize ideas,

develop arguments, and write clearly and creatively in English at CEFR B1 level. The focus

should be on broader social issues.

Objectives: - To present ideas clearly in written communication (CLO 4). - To develop arguments with supporting details and examples. - To demonstrate correct grammar and vocabulary at B1 level. - To apply creativity and critical thinking in writing on social themes.

Choose ONE of the following topics:

1. Future Cities: What will they look like?

2. What Student Life Will Look Like in 2035?

3. Why Recycling Campaigns Often Fail in Malaysia?

4. The Role of Youth in Protecting Traditions.

Instructions:

• Write a blog post of about 500 words (individual work).

• Follow this structure:

o Introduction: hook + thesis statement

o Body paragraphs (2–3): each with a clear topic sentence and supporting

details

o Conclusion: summary + reflection

• Use clear grammar and vocabulary appropriate for CEFR B1 level.

• Be creative in both content and presentation. You may decorate your blog with:

o Relevant pictures, photos, or graphics

o Videos, links, or GIFs

o Creative formatting such as headings, highlights, or emojis 

• Submit your blog post by uploading it to the Padlet on the portal (under

the Assessment tab)

Evaluation:

Your blog post will be graded based on the rubric provided in the LTAP: - Organization (Introduction, thesis, topic sentences, coherence, conclusion) - Content (Ideas fully developed, relevant, logical) - Grammar (Accuracy and variety of structures) - Vocabulary (Appropriate and varied word choice) - Creativity (Originality, engaging style, creative element included)

Total Weightage: 25% (Refer to LTAP for the assessment rubric)
