CONTRACT MANAGEMENT
OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of this assignment is to provide students the opportunity to:
a) Review contract pricing type in relation to project contract strategies namely joint ventures and partnering.
b) Discuss the issues in project contract management.
INSTRUCTIONS:
You are required to provide a report on ALL tasks to achieve the assessment criteria which are set out in the rubric. It is acceptable to use the opinions and judgments of project professionals to support your work.
QUESTION 1
Many formal contracts are incomplete as they cannot specify the details of the potential task and the responsibilities that to be performed by a firm or partners.
In relation to the above statement, choose ONE project that apply joint ventures or partnering type of collaboration and also using one type of contract pricing.
a) Discuss how contract choice affects the relationship between partner integration and performance.
b) Explore the impact of an incorrect choice of formal contract focusing on the following performance dimensions: project completion time, project costs and product quality.
QUESTION 2
In any type of project, whether it's construction projects, delivery projects, marketing or any other project, an organization may face problems with contract negotiations, contract issues or legal issues.
Discuss at least FIVE major issues in general when dealing with contract management in projects.
You may cite a few projects to support your discussion.
Assignment Format:
a. Use double space and 12-point of Times New Roman font.
b. The assignment should contain about 3500 – 5000 words (15 – 20 pages)
c. Provide reference using the American Psychological Association(APA) format
d. References should be latest (year 2005 onwards)
