PURPOSE
Communication
is significant for managers in an organisation to perform the basic functions
of management. The purpose of this assignment is to enhance learners’ ability
to discuss how formal, informal and non-verbal communications make an impact on
an organisation and provide recommendations for future communication
improvements in an organisation.
REQUIREMENT
Assuming
that you are a branch manager in one of Malaysia's fast food restaurants. Using
relevant examples from the selected organisation, compare formal communication
and informal communication that occur in the organisation. Analyse whether
non-verbal communication takes place in that organisation. Discuss four types
of communication barriers by providing relevant examples from the chosen
organisation. Provide suggestions to increase the effectiveness of
communication in that organisation. Finally, reflect on how this assignment has
prepared you to have a better understanding of the importance of communication
as an Open University Malaysia (OUM) learner and future manager.
